Quite the shock.  At least it was for me.  I thought I needed an emergency appendectomy but apparently I was wrong.

At breakfast time,

Me:  "Ok Lena, do you want oatmeal or cereal for breakfast?"

Lena:  "Ummm, a waffle with Nuttella.  That is the option I want."

Lena, "Daddy, when I get bigger I'm going to drive the car and you can sit in the back and drink your drink."

Meeting the new cuz

Lena and James got to meet their cousin yesterday!!

Beck Mason Marshall born on 1/6/2013 at 7lbs 2oz,  20 3/4in long

Birthday Boy

Here's the birthday boy!

His shirt says, "I'm the birthday boy" in English, not Greek.  The fact that I used the PhotoBooth application to take these pictures gave me a mirror image of the words, which is pretty funny :-)

What does he want for his birthday?  More teeth (still only has 2) and a big cardboard box to play in.  I can arrange for the 2nd wish.

Lena relentlessly yelling on the monitor after we've given her a bath, read her some stories, and put her to bed, "Mommy!!  daddy!!"

Mike goes upstairs.

Lena to Mike, "Daddy!  I can't read this book!"

Mike, "What do you mean, Lena?"

Lena, "I don't know what these words say!"

Mike, "well, that's because you don't know how to read yet."

Lena, "Why not?! Baby James knows how to read!!"

Mike, "no he doesn't, Bean."

Lena, "yes he does."

Mike, "no he doesn't. He's a baby."

Lena, "well, what does this word say?"

Mike " 'ok' "

Lena, "what does this word say?"

Mike, " 'the' ... Lena, I can't teach you how to read right now"

Lena, "Why not?!!"

Mike, "because Bean, you're 2 and a half and..? ... it's bed time."
