Halloween

Hey there.

Here are some scaaaaary things.  Pics and videos and such.  Here is a pre-trick-or-treating video of Lena:

and here are come pictures.  yes, I know that James does not have a costume on.  It's kind of a funny story.  So my friend Meredith was bringing her 2 boys over to join the other 6 kids and 6 adults already here.  She was picking up pizza for everyone and had a pumpkin costume for James.  She's the only one who does not live in our 3 block radius.  And then she gets a flat tire in the parking lot of the pizza place.  And then her in-laws drive over to save her and they get pulled over.  and get a ticket.  and then her husband shows up and switches her vehicles or something and they finally make it.... after we've already taken the kids trick-or-treating once.  We took the kids out again when she arrived and we all ate pizza but by that time James was in bed for the night.  Oh well.  He'll never remember anyway.

And then we celebrated our friend Grant's birthday, a Halloween birthday :)

Lena may or may not have tried to steal his birthday wish.....

I find Lena at the top of the stairs peering through the bars of the baby gate after I'd put her in bed for a nap...

Lena: "Mom. I REALLY need your help."
Me: "With what, Bean?"
Lena: "I really need your help so I can climb over this baby gate."

A few days ago in the kitchen.

Lena: "Mommy can I please have some big milk?"

Me: "Sure."

Lena: "Yay!  I don't want no little milk."

So we went up to the Adirondaks for Columbus Day Weekend.  It was quite fun.  The last night we were there about an hour after we had put Lena to bed we hear the doorknob and a footed-PJed-pacifiered-wild-haired-blankey-dragging girl walks into the center of the living room, stops, and announces, "I'm done sleeping. Why? Because I'm awake."    ok then.

Lena Says #3

Sheryl:  "Lena can you sing me a song?"
Lena: "Sure." (begins singing)  "A B C D X Y Z I don't know my A B Cs"


Lena looking at a bag of popcorn: "Mommy can I have some corn pops?"


Also, within the past 5 days Lena has hit the "why" stage and hit it hard.  She. Asks. Why. All. Day. Long.  and she even asks it to herself rhetorically...

Lena to no one:  "I'm crying! Because why? I fell down."

Hi again.

I know it's been awhile.  We had about 3 weeks of sickness after sickness and it was miserable.  I had pinkeye TWICE in 2 weeks.  Lena and James each had it once.  We all had sinus infections.  yuck yuck yuck.  It seems that everyone is currently healthy... We'll go with that.  And here's some videos for you to watch!

And yesterday was May 1st.  HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?  Time.  Sheesh.  goes.  so. fast.

James will be 4 months old in a couple days!  He's gotten so big and so much more interactive (and so much happier, thank goodness).  Lena is almost 2 years old!  When Lena was 4 months old I was still a mildly panic-stricken crazy person.   This time around things seem a whole lot easier.  Whew.  and that's a discussion for another time because both kids are currently napping and so it's time for me to get some important and too often overlooked things done.  #1 on this list of things is: showering.

So James is a way better laugher than Lena was at his age.  Seriously, she did not think we were funny at all.  James is way easier to amuse.
